Still a little chilly for summer, but then you would expect that for almost the top of Europe. A day's outing to Aiguille du Midi, by cable car, and then a slog uphill, on the opposite side of the valley to le Brévent, for some great views. The cable car is the highest in the world, ending up at over 3800 m altitude. Pack a jacket.
